Too much noise can hide the truth

Have ever been in one of those meetings or parties where there are one or two people that are louder than everyone else?

You know the ones, all you can hear is their voice and their opinions.

Sometimes our heads can be a little bit like that. There is a problem that is making so much noise that not much else gets a look in.

Then one day you get some help. The same sort of help you might get from browsing this website and contacting me.

Then the dominant noisy person leaves the room and suddenly you realise there are other people in the room. Other people that have an equally valid point of view. People that you had never had the chance to listen to be before.

This is why, as we start to work through our problems, sometimes other ones come into our awareness. Ones that have remained quiet but now have a voice. Working on those problems can be even more transformational than working on the big noisy one.

So therapy is a journey and not a destination but it doesn't have to be a long journey. All we have to do is work out where we are trying to get to and find the best route there.

After all, you wouldn't head somewhere without knowing where you were going would you?

And sometimes we make changes in our plans along the way to take the scenic route or the shorter route. That's ok. As long as we don't lose sight of where we are going.

We are all fellow strugglers.

What are you struggling with right now?

Can I help? If so get in touch Dawn@thinkitchangeit.com
